Deep River Reeve Glenn Doncaster Elected to Federation of Canadian Municipalities Board of Directors
Deep River, (ON): The Town of Deep River is extremely proud and excited to announce that Reeve Doncaster has been elected to the 2018-2019 Board of Directors of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. The election took place at the 2018 Annual General Meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia held on June 3, 2018. Reeve Doncaster brings his years of experience successfully serving the residents of Deep River, as well as all of Renfrew County.
“I look forward to continuing to advance the priorities of all Canadian Municipalities large and small”, said Reeve Doncaster. “In particular the issues that face rural communities. It is of vital importance that all three levels of governments work together to enhance the lives of all Canadians. I am excited to continue the work of FCM in this regard.”

According to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities website “the Board of Directors sets policy priorities that reflect the concerns of municipal governments and affiliate members. It meets quarterly to develop policy positions on key national municipal issues. It forms a broad base of support and carries the municipal message to the Government of Canada”. The Federation of Canadian Municipalities is the national voice of local government with nearly 2,000 members, representing 91% of the Canadian population and communities of all sizes.
