Pool Instructor/ Lifeguard

The Town of Deep River is seeking candidates to fill part-time position as a Pool Instructor / Lifeguard with the Recreation Department. The position is approximately 10-30 hours per week, determined by program participation.

Reporting to the Senior Pool Supervisor, this position provides lifeguarding to the public and swimming instruction, lifesaving, water safety and assists in other aquatic programs. The position is also responsible for maintaining program records, and routine operation and maintenance at the Deep River Community Pool.       

The successful applicant will have current Instructor Certificates from the Lifesaving Society, Red Cross, Lifesaving Society National Lifeguarding Certificate, as well as current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain. Certificates or teaching experience in Aquafitness is considered an asset.

The hourly wage for this union position is $15.36. This is a union position represented by Local 740 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
