Spring Hydrant Flushing

Please note that there has been a delay in the Spring Flushing Program and the East End will not begin until the week of June 4, 2018 and run through to June 15, 2018.

Please be advised that hydrant flushing will commence in the West end of Town beginning Monday, May 7, 2018 and on Monday May 28, 2018 in the East end of Town.

Flushing will continue over a four week period as part of a routine maintenance program that is necessary to maintain the integrity of the water system, remove sediment from water mains, verify the proper operation of hydrants and valves, and maintain fire fighting capability.

Residents throughout Town may experience a drop in water pressure and water may be rusty or cloudy due to flushing of the distribution system. If you have rust-coloured water please run your COLD WATER TAPS ONLY (suggested taps: outside hose, bathtub or laundry tub) until the water is clear

Please DO NOT use your hot water until you have clean running water again.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 613.584.2000, ext. 107
