The Town of Deep River is seeking applications for the position of Treasurer. The successful candidate, as a member of senior staff, will act as financial controller and perform all statutory duties of Treasurer and Tax Collector. The Treasurer will also provide support, guidance and advice to Department Heads, Committees, Council, and local boards on financial matters, as well as monitoring the implementation of all financial policies and programs as established by Council.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Three year post-secondary education in financial management and business administration. Five to ten years’ experience in finance and accounting. AMCT certification considered an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of municipal administration, finance and accounting, tax collection including knowledge of statutes and regulations as they apply to the position of Treasurer and municipalities.
- Negotiation and communication skills along with computer literacy with financial applications are required.
- Experience with Asset Management and Performance Management a definite asset.
Compensation: $84,620.00 to $108,000.00 per annum, plus comprehensive benefits package.
