Provincial Stay-at-Home Order Over in Renfrew County and District End of Day Feb. 9, 2021 (Posted Feb. 9, 2021)

Provincial Stay-at-Home Order Over in Renfrew County and District End of Day February 9, 2021.

Today, the Ontario Government announced that Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU), along with two other regions, will be moving back to the COVID-19 Response Framework at the Green-Prevent level on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. As of this date, RCDHU will no longer be subject to the Stay-at-Home order.

The current Stay-at-Home order will be in place for 28 other public health units until Tuesday, February 16, 2021. For Toronto, Peel and York regions, it is proposed that the Stay-at-Home order will continue to apply until Monday, February 22, 2021.

Additionally, the province announced that the provincial emergency declared under section
7.0.1 of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMPCA) will be over, end of day
February 9, 2021.

“While we commend the residents of Renfrew County and District for their hard work and dedication
to getting us to this point, please remember that this does not mean we can let our guard down. We
continue to advise residents to stay at home unless for essential purposes, avoid social
gatherings, minimize travel between areas with different rules, and limit close contacts to their
household,” states Dr. Robert Cushman, Acting Medical Officer of Health,RCDHU.

In addition to these new public health measures, it is imperative that everyone do their part to
stay home if they are sick, avoid contact with people who are ill, practice physical distancing (2
metres), wear a mask/face covering when physical distancing cannot be maintained, wash their hands,
use the COVID Alert App, and complete the COVID-19 self-assessment tool or COVID-19 school and
childcare screening tool
daily if they go to work, school or daycare, to monitor for symptoms and
proper guidance.
