With the recent cold weather residents are encouraged to take a few simple steps to help prevent water lines from freezing.

• Leave a small stream of water running in faucets located along outside walls of your home, often bathrooms, laundry rooms, or kitchen sinks. This small trick helps keep water moving through your pipes and can prevent costly freezes or breaks.
• Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate
• Check exposed pipes and insulate if possible
• Know where your main water shutoff is, just in case
