A message from Hydro One :
I wanted to send an update letting you know that crews are working as safely and quickly as possible responding to outages caused by freezing rain that swept across the province last night. Additional outages could occur as snow is expected throughout the day.
Customers can register for outage alerts and report an outage by texting register to 92887 (WATTS) and following the prompts. Outages can also be reported through our outage map and app, or by calling 1-800-434-1235.
When outages occur, Hydro One prioritizes restoration in a way that brings power back to the greatest number of customers in the shortest period of time. Crews need to repair main lines along with other key pieces of electricity infrastructure before repairs can be made to power lines that serve smaller numbers of customers.
Safety
•It’s critical to stay far away from any fallen power lines. If you see a downed lines, stay at least 10 metres back and report it to Hydro One
•If you are using a generator, ensure that it is outside, far from any windows or vents
