FACILITY WORKER

The Town of Deep River is currently seeking a candidate to fill a term position of Facility Worker for a period of eighteen (18) months subject to extension or cancellation. The position of Facility Worker assists with the supervision of the Municipal Facilities, facility staff and helps to ensure that all facilities meet current legislative requirements.

The hours of work will be depending on seasonal operations to a maximum of forty (40) scheduled hours per week. Hours of work include some evenings and weekend shifts with possible overtime.

Qualifications required include a valid Ontario G class driver’s license, a grade 12 Diploma, good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, experience with general maintenance, renovations or construction, experience with commercial cleaning is an asset. Must have strong interpersonal skills for dealing with public inquiries and complaints. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Must have good judgement to work independently and experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.

Compensation for this position will be $26.17 per hour in accordance with the CUPE 740 Collective agreement with the potential for comprehensive benefits in accordance with the Collective Agreement. This is a union position represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 740.
