Halloween is over and has left us with our first snow fall. So it looks like winter is here and the Seniors Friendship Club have some amazing events planned to get you out and about on those cold winter days.
Thursday, November 14th Shopping Trip to Ottawa – Last Chance! This is your last chance to sign up for this trip as the deadline to pay is November 7th. Pick up will be at Jan’s Valumart at 9 am and travel to Ottawa's Bayshore mall. Bus will leave the mall at 4:30 pm to go to dinner at the Mandarin Restaurant. Return home will be approximately 9 pm. Cost is $75.00 which includes dinner and bus. Call Cathy now at 613-584-1577.
Wednesday, November 20th at the CEC at 1:30 Al Hepburn will be presenting a fascinating talk on “Around the World in a Light Aircraft". Come out and hear about his adventures through Quebec to Paris, Dubai to Hong Kong to Harpin and Alaska to Seattle. Refreshments will be served.

55 Alive Driving Course - Nov 27th and 29th – Please note this session is Full. Please note that this session is full. If there is more interest we could offer this course again next year. Cheques made payable to SFC may be placed in the box on the counter in Town Hall by November 20th. Please note that if you have registered and not heard from Cathy, please contact her at 613-584-1577 asap. Location for course is Deep River Library.
Christmas Lunch - Tuesday, December 10th at 12 Noon The Christmas Luncheon is Tuesday, December 10th at noon at the Deep River Legion. Full Turkey Dinner with all of the trimmings yum yum. Sing-along with Peter Boczar. Tickets are $20.00 and will be on sale at the Olive Tree starting November 12th till November 29th. Don't miss out on this wonderful lunch to get you in the holiday spirit.
SFC General Meeting - Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 The Seniors Friendship Club general meeting will be held at the CEC on Wednesday January 15th at noon. Lunch will be available. More details to follow.
Cooking Nutritious Meals for 1 or 2 - Mondays January 20th, 27th February 3rd and 10th. Are you having trouble downsizing your meals since the kids have left home or have found yourself cooking for just one? Well, we have a solution for you. The Seniors Friendship Club and Walsh Nutrition are presenting 4 sessions of cooking classes. These healthy tasty cooking classes will be held Mondays-January 20th, 27th and February 3rd and 10th at St Mary’s Separate School Deep River. Class size will be restricted to 10 to 15 people. Healthy nutritious budget friendly meals will be prepared and as the classes will be from 4 to 6 pm you will be able to take your prepared meals home. Cost will be approximately $150.00 for the 4 sessions with food included but price is dependent on class size and menu. Reminder that weekly on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 billiards will be held at Wayne Workman’s, 10 Newton Street. Everyone is welcome to join Wayne around his table for a great game of billiards but space is limited so give Wayne a call at 613-584-2385.
Fitness with Wendy continues on Mondays and Thursday at the library at 1:30.
