Marriage Licences

General Provisions:

To be married in Ontario, you must complete the Marriage Licence Application Form.

To book an appointment and complete the application online please visit: Apply for a Marriage Licence On-line, you may also complete the application by downloading a copy of the application form at Service Ontario Forms.

Please be prepared to provide two (2) pieces of government-issued identification for each person getting married. One piece of identification must include your photo. The following identification are acceptable:

• Government-issued birth certificate, including any change of name certificates
• Valid passport
• Record of immigrant landing
• Canadian citizenship card
• Valid driver's licence
• Valid Ontario Photo Card
• BYID age of majority card
• Military ID

A marriage licence is valid for use anywhere in Ontario.
The licence expires three months after the date of issue.
The fee for a marriage licence is $122.60 for residents and $245.19 for non-residents.
