Hydro One Weather Alert - September 2, 2026

Hydro One Information Regarding Potential Severe Weather This Afternoon

Good afternoon,

I am writing to share some information about the potential for damaging thunderstorms later today. Please know that we are monitoring the weather closely, with our crews ready to restore power should outages occur. We want our customers to know that we prepare for severe weather by having resources and equipment ready. This includes crews, mechanics, warehouse staff and our call centre to name a few.

The severe thunderstorms forecasted for parts of southern, central and eastern Ontario later today may be accompanied by high winds along with the risk for tornados in some areas.

We are urging customers to prepare for the potential of an extended power outage. This includes restocking their emergency kit. Visit Emergency Preparedness | Hydro One for more information on what your kit should include.

There are a number of tools available for customers to report their power outage, and to stay up to date, including reporting an outage by texting 92887 (WATTS), through our outage map and app, or by calling 1-800-434-1235. Find more information about our outage tools at Outage Tools | Hydro One
