Serving as a volunteer firefighter is one of the most dynamic and rewarding ways to make a lasting, positive impact in your community.


Starting Compensation

  • $23.00/hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) / Grade 12 minimum or equivalent
  • Valid Class G driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record
  • Medical clearance note from a qualified health care provider confirming physical fitness for firefighter duties

Training certifications:

Upon hire, firefighters will participate in the department’s Training Program and must achieve the following certifications and licenses:

  • Valid Class DZ Driver’s License
  • NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Responder – Awareness Level
  • Red Cross Certification (First Aid, CPR, AED, Oxygen Therapy, Airway Management, and Basic Life Support / BLS)
  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level 1 & 2
  • NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Operations Level
