2025-26 Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone (EASE) Grant
The Town of Deep River is pleased to announce that its application for the 2025-26 Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone (EASE) Grant has been approved by the Province of Ontario and the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility. This generous grant is funded by the Government of Ontario and will support the Deep River Arena Accessibility Upgrades.
The project focus is to install an elevator at the Deep River Arena to remove a physical barrier and improve access to all levels of the facility. This work aligns with the Town’s Accessibility Plan, which identifies the need to enhance access to municipal buildings and create more inclusive public spaces. The elevator will support the Town’s long-term goal of making all community facilities welcoming and accessible to everyone.
“We are grateful to the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility for investing in accessible infrastructure across Renfrew Nipissing Pembroke. From Deep River to McNab Braeside and from Pembroke to Horton, these investments are creating opportunities for residents of all abilities to take part in something everyone should be able to enjoy, play. Thank you to Minister Raymond Cho and his team for reaffirming their strong commitment to our community.”
— Billy Denault, MPP for Renfrew–Nipissing–Pembroke
“On behalf of the residents of Deep River, we are thrilled to receive this EASE grant for our arena. With support from the Province of Ontario, we will be able to install an elevator to ensure everyone can access our community space. Removing barriers like this helps strengthen our community and ensures all residents and visitors can fully participate. We are grateful to MPP Billy Denault and the Province for their support.”
— Sue D’Eon, Mayor of Deep River
